Young Alumni Series: Illini in Government and Politics

The Institute of Government and Public Affairs and Illinois Connection are excited to announce 2012’s first Young Alumni Series: Illini in Government and Politics. We are starting the series off again with a unique speaker, who has worked her way to the top of government relations for healthcare in Illinois.

The night will feature Stephanie Faraci, a 2003 Illini grad who manages all state-government relations for the entire Provena Health system. That’s 6 hospitals, 23 nursing homes and 14 home-care facilities. Every day, Stephanie has a substantial impact on the future of citizens in our state.

We are looking forward to hosting Stephanie Faraci and hope that you all come to hear her path to her impacting career in healthcare, an industry that will continue to grow. It is a great event to network with speakers, gather insightful ideas about your future, and now, enjoy desserts and refreshments!

This edition of the Young Alumni Series: Illini in Government and Politics will be held on Monday, February 13th at 7 pm in Illini Union Room 405. See you there!

Fall Gen Ed Course: MCB180 Human Reproduction & Society

I was recently notified that this course still has some seats available for the fall. It's a life science (LS) gen ed. This course might be a good option for those interested in a healthcare career - although of course you'll most likely fulfill this gen ed category with other, required, coursework. Here's the blurb I was sent:

MCB 180, Human Reproduction & Society
Credit: 3 hours.
This course satisfies the General Education Criteria for a Life Sciences course.

Lectures and discussions on topics in human reproduction where technological and clinical advances are having economic, social, and ethical consequences.

Past students have given the course good feedback and the instructor is very enthusiastic.
