Job Description 
The University YMCA is seeking a mature, organized, and detail-oriented sophomore or junior to work alongside program staff on internationally focused events, including programs like the International Dinner and Cosmo Coffee Hours. The intern will be responsible for assisting with event planning, logistics and publicity. This position offers an opportunity for an undergraduate student to gain leadership experience in a supportive environment. The intern will work 5-10 hours/week for the Spring semester and must be willing and available to continue the position through Fall 2012/Spring 2013. Must be available Thursday evenings from 7pm -10pm. Federal Work Study Preferred. Stipend may be available for non-work study student.

Responsibilities
Event planning - Recruit and schedule student organizations to facilitate events; communicate expectations to volunteer groups, coordinate reimbursements 
Publicity - Develop targeted mailing lists for individual events, send informative emails about upcoming events at the Y, help with bulk and campus mailings, etc. 
Event Logistics - Set up sound system, projector, and supplies at weekly Thursday coffee hours; greet volunteer organizations and explain how event will be run, facilitate clean up. 
Other - general office help as assigned 
Qualifications 
Some previous experience in event planning/management 
Computer proficiency 
Willingness to work with and learn new multimedia 
Personal Qualities
Strong communications and interpersonal skills. 
Works well under pressure, meets deadlines, and can manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
Exhibits great creativity and resourcefulness. o Has a positive attitude, works collaboratively and efficaciously as a team member.
Self-motivated, energetic, creative and resourceful. 
Supports and is committed to promoting cultural exchange and international understanding
